My colored pencil, sunflower drawing completed for the private lesson coming up on Wednesday. I worked on it all day Saturday and part of Sunday. I had to stop and take photos (14 in all) for the step-by-step instruction manual.
While I was in creative mode, The Chief was in mechanic mode. You may recognize this particular car and problem area.
| "Hey, Man, go get me the....Doh! That's right, I have to be the go-fer, too!" |
OK, so this thinger -ma-bob had rusted completely through and practically disintegrated right in The Chief's hands. But never fear - MacGyver's here and a solution is just around the corner.
A few cuts, a little sealant, and thing-a-ma-bobber 2 will be ready for installation, and the Buick will be ready for another thrilling winter in NE Ohio.
It seems my little red Zoom Zoom need some tender, loving care, too! Where have I seen that WD-40 can before?
If only this little rotor could talk, the stories it would have to tell!
A wink of his eye and a twist of his head, soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread.
The elders left the estate Saturday night, and a had wonderful evening with the Clarkins. Ah, nothing like Special Coffee except Special Iced Coffee by the light of the silvery moon.
A rather demure looking Ro says "Hi!"
OK. That about does it for the weekend. I took more pics this evening, but I think I'll save them for another post in the next day or two. Until then, love and hugs to all ya'll!
Just the vent line was completely rotted out, the main filler was salvageable. I found the oil cooler lines (I think) from the IROC and the one will work perfectly. I just need to count the old one and connect them together with a hose-picture to follow. It took the 15# sledge hammer to pound the right front rotor off of mom's car, that's why it looks so beat up. I also had to replace the caliper because it was sticking. Got the parts @ Lake Foreign Car Parts. Just $13 for rotors and $33 for the caliper! It sure is a pain in the butt having to go-fer a tool every time you need one!! D
ReplyDeleteAn'Angelia Thompson- I want a home-grown salad :( Soon enough, and you'll just need a cow to make your own feta, lol. That penciled sunflower looks excellent! I'm glad the lessons are going well.
ReplyDeleteBlk69coupe- What an odd looking part. I knew those were the IROC cooler lines as soon as I saw them! It's as if they were meant to hang around for that purpose. After all of the re-purposed parts we've integrated in the garage, it makes you want to keep everything (or not), LOL. I actually thought the rotor looked like that, but eventually figured you probably had to beat the hell out of it for it to budge. At least the components were very cheap! Obviously Protege brake components are JUNK, huh? I miss being the go-fer, and telling you how to do the job correctly ;) I need to do an oil change or something to the Highlander. If I had glass adhesive, I could have replaced the shattered window, albeit in twice as much time as the glass guys!
There should be plenty of lettuce for home grown salads; however, I draw the line at cows and homemade feta! LOL
