I went outside to wave goodbye to The Chief from the driveway as he left for work. As I began to climb the stairs, I heard, "Yo, whaz up?". I looked behind the grill to see this praying mantis. I went in to get the camera for the photo op, and as I came back out and got closer to him, I thought he might be hanging dead in a spider web. Little did I know - he was alive and well. As I went down the stairs to the lower deck, he turned to stare at me. It was then that I knew it was time to vacate the premises.
The Chief has been busy with mechanic activities. Here are the rotors from the Buick. Maybe they could have endured a couple more miles - I'm just sayin'...
Autumn has definitely arrived early here on the Northcoast. At this point, one can only hope for Indian Summer. It's been a long time since I had to pull a jacket out in September - NO WIKEY! Fall colors are beginning show (as in the neighbor's maple tree), so that makes it just a tad more easy to take.
I finally brought out my new favorite toy from The Meriden House - a rotisserie! Sure made some mighty fine chicken! Just wait 'till I Iron Chef a pork loin on this baby!
Well, that's about it for September. Other than that, nothing much going on. I'm sure there will be more car photos to post in the coming weeks as well as (I hope!) some lovely autumn shots. Thanks to KT for the rotor and rotisserie photos!
Until next time, everyone stay safe and stay warm - and oh, yah - have FUN!!!
Love, Mom
"SET IT AND FORGET IT!!!" Haha, having fun with that, I see? Oh my, the rosemary tomato chicken looks absolutely delicious! A praying mantis is just so big...I'm surprised they creep you out! Is that a brake pad, or a chunk of the rotor? LOL I wish I could sympathize with the cool weather, but I just...yeah...I just can't do that ;)
