Hey! Greetings from home! You asked to see pictures of the beans, so I thought the easiest way to keep you caught up with all the latest activities on the home front is to create a blog. It's much more efficient than doing the email thing, I think (HINT HINT!) I just took all of these photos about an hour ago. (Yes, you too can create a blog in an hour!)
My container garden is filling in nicely, isn't it? Only a couple little weeds coming up. Hopefully it will stop raining before everything drowns.
This runner is about 2 feet long. I keep putting it back in the box but it has a mind of it's own!
My pepper plant on the back, left side. It's the red pepper.
This is the yellow pepper plant on the front left side.
Here's a view of both pepper plants.
A closer view of the green beans. Aren't they lovely? I love having these on the deck. Oh, no! I totally forgot to take pictures of the back garden. Maybe I'll get some back there tomorrow.
The bell pepper plant on the right is LOADED with peppers! I can't wait to watch them grow.
My cherry tomatoes are also coming along nicely!
There are 3 different stems of tomatoes growning - two near the top and one on the left side near the lower rung on the stake. I don't know why the plant isn't bushier. Maybe it's been too cool and wet.
Check out my newest flower addition. It's a black and gold petunia! I've never seen anything like it. I bought it at the new Petiti's in Mentor. It was $5 bucks but I had to have it! It's planted with yellow and orange marigolds in a pot on the deck rail next to the garden box.
I bought this nasturtium at the nursery on Madison Ave. I knew the flowers are edible, but the gardener there told me that this plant is an herb and the leaves are also edible. I'm going to have to do more research. It should vine and climb the lattice.
The lily next to the bench finally bloomed. It's almost fluorescent.
Dad says, "HI!" I tried to get him to wave, but he wasn't havin' it!
Here's my newest pride and joy - a rosemary plant! I bought it at Petiti,s Garden Center. It's supposed to grow into a bush and will survive the winter in the house according to the info label attached. Maybe you and Nadia will get some fresh rosemary chicken in September!
Here's a closeup of the rosemary. It smells great! An added benefit is that it keeps moths and other little creatures away from the beans because they don't like the smell. We'll see how that works out.
OK, that's all for today. Clicking on any photo will enlarge it, and you can comment on the posts, too. Hope you and Nadia have a great evening. I'll be looking for pics soon - including your eagerly anticipated Carribean feast! Love and hugs to you both. M
I cannot believe how fast everything grew in just a weeks time!! That "Riverside" petunia looks amazing. Is it a hybrid? Well, I suppose I don't have an excuse for lacking a blog, now! I want to see pictures of wall clouds and angry storms!! All I see is sun and ocean clouds that burn off after a couple of hours :)
